¡Feliz Cinco De Mayo a todos!
I'm not Mexican (my name sounds hispanic though), but here's to my Mexican readers (if any) and Coursera classmates!
One thing I love about Cinco De Mayo is that food sites and blogs come up with special features with all these Mexican dishes that are muy delicioso! I love Mexican food and I dream about going to Mexico, meet Speedy Gonzales and have an authentic Mexican feast!
While that is not yet happening, I'm sharing with you my recipe of a world famous Mexican dish that is also one of my favorites to make and eat — tacos!
chopped tomatoes
chopped white onions
chopped Iceberg lettuce and Romaine lettuce
grated cheese
ground beef
cumin powder
Spanish paprika
cayenne pepper
onion powder
garlic powder
lime juice
salt and pepper
taco shells or tortilla
Directions:
- Season ground beef with cumin, spanish paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, lime juice, salt and pepper. Make sure all the ingredients are well incorporated.
- In a pan, cook the ground beef mixture until it turns dark brown. Do not overcook the meat or it will get dry.
- To serve, spoon lettuce, cooked ground beef, tomatoes, onions, and grated cheese into each taco shell. You may also serve them in warm tortillas.
