I can't tell you enough how big a Jamie Oliver fan I am. Today, I'm supporting his Food Revolution Day 2013! Stemmed from his cookbook Jamie's Ministry of Food, it's a movement he started that calls out to foodies all over the world to share their knowledge on food and cooking.
Since I love steak, I'm sharing with you my recipe for my Home-Cooked Grilled Aussie Striploin Steak.
Cook it. Share it. Live it.
Ingredients:
Aussie Striploin Steak
olive oil
garlic powder
onion powder
spanish paprika
fresh tarragon, chopped
fresh rosemary, chopped
lime juice
salt and pepper
Directions:
- Season the steaks with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, spanish paprika, chopped tarragon, chopped rosemary, lime juice, salt, and pepper. You may substitute dried herbs if fresh ones are not available.
- Put the meat in a container or in a ziploc bag. Place inside the fridge or freezer and let it marinate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
- Greased with a few drops of olive oil, preheat the griller to 350 degrees. To know if it's hot enough, place your hand about five inches above the cooking surface. If you can hold it comfortably for 3 to 4 seconds, you're ready to cook!
- Place the meat on the griller and cook each side cook for 3 to 5 minutes (depending on how thick meat is and how well you want it done).
- Plate, serve and enjoy!
